The Directorate of Quality Improvement is a new part of the Institute. Its tasks relate closely to the international cooperations and the committments of the Ministry of National Resources (formerly Ministry of Health). The Directorate provides expert background and coordinating facilities for the Institute’s objectives including the coordination of quality management projects, development of the yearly reporting of hospitals’ quality systems, data collection and analysis needed for clinical audits, development of standards and indicators of clinical audits, managing the register of national medical guidelines, development and operation of the national reporting system of patient safety adverse events.
